The Fun Palaces team have been busy working on some exciting projects. Read on for an update from Freya, our Fun Palaces Ambassador.

Café Fun Palaces
We had our first Café Fun Palaces event back in May which was a great success. It was lovely to see some new faces, chat about creativity and culture and learn how to paint like Picasso from the brilliant Creativity in Care.
Fun Palaces meetings are great fun. There is no right or wrong way of doing things; it's all about the fun factor, making a mess and enjoying it. I'm always looking forward to the next project!
There will be more Café Fun Palaces happening at Eden Court on the last Wednesday of each month - so please join us from 1 - 3pm on 31 Aug, 28 Sep and 26 Oct to chat about culture, get creative and enjoy some tea, coffee and cake!
Fun Palaces Workshops
We also have more workshops planned leading up to our Fun Palaces Weekend of Celebration. I was recently joined by Lewis Hou, a Fun Palaces ambassador based in Edinburgh, to lead our Creativity for All workshop. We enjoyed some music together and discussed our preferred creative outlets and the ways we look after ourselves.

New Toolkits
I have been working on putting new Toolkits together, and these can now be found on our website!
Fun Palaces are all about people taking charge and leading culture for themselves - and that includes Young People. Therefore, we now have a Toolkit for Young People with advice on how to organise their own Fun Palace, as well as one for organisations and communities on how to give Young People a voice.
We also have a new Sustainability Toolkit full of tips on how to make your Fun Palace as climate-friendly as possible.
If you are involved in your own Fun Palace and would like any other support, please feel free to email us: funpalaces@eden-court.co.uk.

Introducing Our New Fun Palaces Ambassador
Earlier in August, we welcomed Ruari Gordon to our team. Ruari is an events producer, community arts co-ordinator and sound engineer based in Inverness.
Ruari said, “I’m really excited to be joining the team at Eden Court, and the national Fun Palaces project. I look forward to continuing and developing the work Fun Palaces already carry out in the north of Scotland. It’s a great opportunity to help highlight the people and places which make up our shared culture and heritage.”
We're excited to see what Ruari brings to Fun Palaces at Eden Court!
